Homilog (preview of Sunday's homily)Hynicka's Homilog
Homily is another word for sermon. The best sermons are a product of prayer, study, reflection on comments from biblical scholars and social/spiritual interaction with the people of the parish. A homily or sermon is a bold attempt to present God's Word for salvation and faithful living in the world today - "divine messaging" I like to call it these days. In Hynicka's Homilog, I am inviting more interaction and dialogue from all who want to participate as I pray and prepare for preaching each Sunday. So, please read the scripture lessons that form the basis of next week's homily/sermon. Be sure to read the key verse that I select, the homily/sermon title I create and the key points I am working with. Please email me at robin@archstreetumc.org with your comments, ideas, illustrations, prayers and encouragement. June 20, 2010 (Fourth Sunday after Pentecost)
The sermon will be preached by Arch Street's seminarian and candidate for ordained ministry, LauraBeth Jones.
Sermon Title: Bread for the Journey
